Of Giraffes and Bisexual Organisms

Thursday, 1st November. I was sitting in class attempting to shove the last bit of Biology knowledge into my already severely saturated brain. And then it hit me, like a "wahyu" (Paul's word) sent from above, the (what seemed to be SO important at the time) question popped in my head.

"Why the hell do giraffes have such long necks?" I blurted. Tharuman, (the most adorable creature to walk this planet...) who was sitting opposite me glanced up and simply replied, "So they can reach the leaves in high places"

I slap my forehead. "No, I mean, what did they evolve from? A horse?" I asked.

"A goat," he says.

Like what the hell right? How can a goat be a giraffe? I mean...SERIOUSLY? So, being a regular at Wikipedia, I looked it up. APPARENTLY.... giraffes evolved from CAMELS. (or deers...)Sheesh, Tharuman. Goat. Pfffttt.

fine.... i made a mistake.... but if u observe the specimen carefully, wouldn't u notice that a goat has more in common wif a giraffe than a camel? please take their habitat, skin color and a detailed physical structure of their body. I'm not sure if u have tried it but giraffe meat tastes a lot like mutton only its less tender ... And FYI : Goats evolved from deers u know.... Cant u see the resemblance
